The Purple Hearts were a 1960s band hailing from Brisbane, Australia. The lineup included Mick Hadley as the lead vocalist, Lobby Loyde on lead guitar, and Fred Pickard on rhythm guitar. Paul Steffen also contributed as a rhythm guitarist from 1964 to 1965. The band saw various drummers, with Adrian 'Red' Redmond playing from 1965 to 1966 and Tony Cahill taking over from 1966 to 1967. Bob Dames was on bass during the same period as Hadley, Loyde, and Pickard. The Purple Hearts made a significant mark in the Australian music scene during their active years.
