The Ramblers were a Dutch dance orchestra formed in 1926. They gained significant popularity in The Netherlands with a repertoire of jazz and popular tunes. The group recorded backing in 1935 and 1937, as well as in 1937-1938. In 1942, due to German law, the orchestra was compelled to change its name. The Ramblers continued to be led by Masman until 1964, when they rebranded as VARA, named after Verenigde Arbeiders Radio, where they performed, and shifted their repertoire to focus solely on popular music. In the mid-1980s, the orchestra was led by a different conductor. The Ramblers also had several spin-offs.
