The Ramrods are an instrumental group that formed in 1956, consisting of brother and sister Richard and Claire Lane, along with their cousin Eugene Mooro and Vincent B. Lee. Originating from Connecticut, they performed at local record hops and club dates until they caught the attention of Amy Records. They were subsequently signed by the label, and their recording of "Ghost Riders In The Sky" began to rise on the "Hot 100." Richard Lane plays the tenor saxophone, Claire Lane plays the drums and writes all their arrangements, while Mooro and Lee play guitar.
