The Raves are a band from New York City, founded in 1964 by Mike and Dave Jimenez. They gained popularity as a regular act at Manny Roth's legendary Café Wha on MacDougal Street and Minetta Lane in Greenwich Village. Despite their efforts, three singles released by the band did not achieve commercial success, leading to their eventual split. Today, The Raves continue to perform with a different lineup, notably without Dave Jimenez. In the 1960s, they were produced by Ron Haffkine.
