The Red Squares were an English pop group formed in 1964 in Boston, England. Despite their lack of success in their home country, the band migrated to Denmark around New Year 1965/66, where they became teenage idols in the latter half of the 1960s in Denmark and Sweden. They were known for their heavily inspired vocals. In late 1968, Martin left the band, marking the beginning of a series of lineup changes, with Garriock remaining as the only original member. In 1969, a Norwegian singer joined the band while they were touring Israel. The group ultimately disbanded shortly before Christmas 1969. Between 1975 and 1978, Garriock led an attempt to revive the band. In 1989, he re-formed a new incarnation of The Red Squares, retaining his status as the sole original member.
