The Righteous Brothers were a vocal duo formed in 1963, consisting of William Medley, born on September 19, 1940, in Los Angeles, USA, and Bobby Hatfield, born on August 10, 1940, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, USA, and who passed away on November 5, 2003, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA. They are best known for their iconic tracks "Unchained Melody" and "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'." The latter was written and produced by legendary producer Phil Spector in 1964, which many critics consider to be the pinnacle of Spector's producing career. The success of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" was partly due to the original promo's playing time being listed as 3:05, a strategy employed by Spector to ensure airplay despite the actual length being closer to 3:45. At that time, radio stations typically avoided songs longer than 3 minutes to fit ad breaks. Additionally, a British pop artist released a version of the song in Christmas 1964, prior to the original's UK release, which garnered further media attention, even amid the Beatlemania and British Invasion in the US.
