The Romancers were a US rock band hailing from the Eastside of Los Angeles, California, active during the 1960s. They were pioneers among East L.A. bands, being one of the first to record and paving the way for future acts such as the Premiers and Cannibal & the Headhunters. The band released two albums on Del-Fi Records and a series of singles for Eddie Davis' Linda label. Max Uballez served as the group's leader, chief songwriter, and rhythm guitarist, contributing to the songwriting and production of the Romancers' records, as well as collaborating with other prominent Eastside bands. The original lineup included David Brill on drums, Andy Tesso and Richard Provincio on lead guitar, Joe Whiteman on saxophone, Manuel “Magoo” Rodriguez on bass, and Max Uballez on rhythm guitar.
