The Ronettes were a girl group formed in New York in 1961 by sisters Estelle Bennett and Veronica (Ronnie) Bennett, along with their maternal cousin Nedra Talley. Initially known as the Darling Sisters, they were briefly renamed Ronnie and the Relatives before settling on The Ronettes. The group is best known for their association with the ‘wall of sound’ production technique, developed by their producer, to whom Ronnie was married from 1968 to 1974. Their 1963 single "Be My Baby" became a major influence on subsequent music. The Ronettes disbanded in 1967 and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
