The Rotations were a 1960s studio ensemble based in Los Angeles, California. This American collective of musicians was inspired by the founder of PAL Studio in Cucamonga, who later recorded a number of works there. The Rotations would "rotate" their lineup, featuring engineer and multi-instrumentalist Buff alongside various artists in a series of surf-oriented concepts. Some of these ideas also influenced Frank Zappa's later works.
