The Screamers were a prominent part of the first wave of L.A. punk bands, active from 1977 to 1981. Despite their influence and presence in the punk scene, the band never released an official recording, although several bootlegs of demos and live performances are available. The lineup included Tomata du Plenty (David Xavier Harrigan) on lead vocals, Tommy Gear on the Arp Odyssey and vocals, Keith Barrett on drums, and multiple members playing the Fender Rhodes: David Brown, Jeff McGregor (Jeffrey Owen McGregor), and Paul Roessler.
