The Seekers were formed in 1962 when Judith Durham, a young jazz singer, met Athol Guy, who sang and played bass in a folk trio called The Seekers, alongside Bruce Woodley and Keith Potger. That night in a coffee bar in South Yarra, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, called the Treble Clef, Judith was invited to join the trio. They performed their repertoire together, with Judith improvising and creating the distinctive sound that would lead to their success in the following years. After the split of The Seekers, Potger went on to manufacture.
