The Shadows are a British instrumental pop/rock band, originally formed as a backing band for another artist. They were renamed in October 1959 and are best known for their guitarist. The original drummer left in October 1961 and was replaced, while the original bassist departed in April 1962 and was succeeded by another bassist, who was later replaced in late 1963. When performing with the associated artist, please use the specified format.
