The Shy-Ones were a quartet formed in early 1966 by high school students from Ashland, Ohio. The group began with neighbors Dave Shoemaker and Bob Ritz, who initially had Bob on bass and Dave on guitar, alongside Bob's cousin Rex Hard on drums, who came from the school marching band. After a few brief member changes, Steve Pifer joined on guitar, while Bob, skilled in multiple instruments, transitioned to a full Hammond organ. Dave and Steve alternated between guitar and bass. In May 1967, they recorded a 45 at WWST studios, released on the Disca/Tech label, which was owned by WWST DJ Judson Rosebush. This was the first and only single from the 'teenage' division of his JayGee recording label.
