**The Snake Corps Bio** The Snake Corps was formed in 1984 after the break-up of SL&G. Core members Tristan Garel-Funk and Nigel Pollard sought to create a harder-edged sound and advertised for musicians in Melody Maker. After auditions, they brought in Marc Lewis and Liam McGuinness as vocals and bass, respectively. This original lineup recorded demos that led to their debut album, "Flesh on Flesh," released in 1984. Despite gaining a local following and support from DJ John Peel, the band faced press and radio indifference. To evolve their sound, they added keyboards, welcoming back SL&G founder David Wood and bassist Jim Blanchard. This lineup produced their second album, "Smother Earth." Despite touring and growing international interest, UK recognition remained elusive. After parting ways with their label, they recorded "The 3rd Cup" at their own expense, which many consider their finest work. Unfortunately, the band's music rights changed hands when their label went into receivership, leading to their split. A best-of compilation, "Spice," was released, seemingly marking the end for the band. In 2010, Marc and Liam reformed the band, later joined by Jim. They found success with performances in Barcelona and other cities, playing alongside notable acts like the Chameleons.
