The Snaps were a 60s band from Folcroft, PA, formed in 1963. The lineup consisted of Charles Walsh on drums, Robert Forsythe (also known as Linc Davis) on keyboards and lead vocals on some recordings, Gary Young on bass and background vocals, and Robert Hummel on lead guitar and vocals. Their first single, "You Don't Want Me"/"You're All Mine," was released in 1966 on the small Cuppy Records and gained some traction in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area. Following the success of their debut, Cuppy Records requested a follow-up, leading to the recording of "The Voice" and "Polka Dotted Eyes." Released in early 1967 on Cuppy’s subsidiary, East Coast Records, the record did not perform well, resulting in the band changing their name to The Underground Balloon Corps., which was later shortened to Balloon Corps. They recorded for Scope, Bell, and Dunhill before disbanding in 1970.
