The Special AKA was a British ska group that emerged as a successor to The Specials. After a partial break-up in 1981, the band reformed with a significantly different lineup and operated under the name The Special AKA from 1982 to 1985. It is important to note that they should not be confused with "The Special A.K.A.", a name used on some of their early releases, which should be entered under The Specials and annotated as appropriate.
