The Squires were an American garage band formed in 1965 in Bristol, Connecticut. The founding members included Michael Bouyea (drums, guitar, vocals), Thomas Flanigan (lead guitar, vocals), Kurt Robinson (organ), and John Folcik (bass). Initially known as The Rogues, they released one single under that name on the Peyton label. Although The Squires only gained popularity in recent years, their songs "Going All The Way" and "Go Ahead" are considered underrated gems in the garage rock genre. Their sole single released under the Squires name, on Atco Records, achieved modest success in Connecticut but did not reach a wider audience. In 1967, the band faced a significant setback when Michael Bouyea and Kurt Robinson were drafted into the US military during the Vietnam War, leading to the near dissolution of the band. However, in 2009, The Squires reunited for several small gigs featuring most of the original members.
