The Squires, also known as Neil Young & The Squires, were a Canadian band formed in Winnipeg in the early 1960s. The original drummer, Jack Harper, was later replaced by Ken Smyth, who participated in the recording sessions for the band's single on V Records. The band experienced several changes in drummers, including Al Johnson, Bill Edmondson—who recorded "I'll Love You Forever" and "I Wonder" at CJLX Radio in Fort William, produced by Ray Dee—and finally Bob Clark, a jazz drummer. The Squires were among the first bands of singer-songwriter Neil Young.
