The Star Mountain Dreamers, a kick-ass rockabilly band from El Paso, Texas, was formed in 2003 by Fred Contreras and Tony Estrada. The lineup includes Danny Magaña on drums and has seen several changes on bass, with Rockin' Lloyd Tripp and currently Moe Lopez. Their music is characterized by hot and spicy Texas rockabilly, featuring great rhythms and excellent musicianship, resulting in a distinct sound. While the fast tracks may have lyrics that are a bit hard to understand, Tony Estrada's energetic vocal performance stands out. The album was recorded in a vintage style at the El Paso Mobile Unit of "The Studio That Time Forgot" in San Francisco, CA, and was officially released at the Green Bay Rockin 50s Fest in 2005. Notably, the song "Hound Like Me" was recognized as "Boppin' Crackshot" of August 2005 by the Dutch Rock 'n' Roll Lifestyle Magazine "Boppin' Around." Tony Estrada, who handles vocals and rhythm guitar, is also known for his work with The Modern Juans.
