The Stooges, originally known as the "Psychedelic Stooges," are a U.S. garage rock, heavy psychedelic, and proto punk rock band formed in 1967 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The band was created by members Dave Alexander, Ron Asheton, and Scott Asheton and is credited with kickstarting the punk rock revolution. In 2010, The Stooges were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as performers.
