**Bio: The Stovall Sisters** The Stovall Sisters, comprised of Nettie, Lillian, and Rejoyce, were born in Kentucky and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, as part of a large family of ten children. Their mother, Della, nurtured their musical talents from a young age, leading them to tour with family gospel groups throughout the Midwest and South. Initially, the sisters were part of the family group known as the Four Loving Sisters, later renamed the Valley Wonders, which included their four older sisters. After the older sisters transitioned to family life, Nettie, Lillian, and Rejoyce took over the Valley Wonders' legacy. Managed by their mother, they also recorded under the name The Stovall Family, accompanied by two brothers. In 1964, the family moved to Oakland, where the sisters balanced their musical aspirations with weekday jobs while expanding their repertoire to include rock ‘n’ roll and rhythm and blues. This shift enabled them to perform in local nightclubs, sometimes under the name Sister Three. In 1968, the sisters pursued a full-time professional music career, placing an ad in the Oakland Tribune seeking a Caucasian band to collaborate with. They found a partner in a man who would help produce their debut album on Reprise Records. In 1969, they gained significant recognition by providing background vocals for a massive hit, and they released their own version of the song in 1970. The Stovall Sisters
