The Sunburst Band is a musical collective formed in 1998 by veteran UK electronic producer Dave Lee, also known as Joey Negro. The group brings together a talented lineup, including Michele Chiavarini on keys, Frank Tontoh on drums, Julian Crampton on bass, Tony Remy on guitar, and vocalists Pete Simpson and Donna Gardier, along with Alex Bennett on keys and Nick Cohen on laptop. The band also features contributions from artists such as Taka Boom, Diane Charlemagne (RIP), Linda Clifford, Henry Thomas, and Thomas Dyani-Akuru. The Sunburst Band was born out of Dave Lee's passion for boogie, funk, disco, and jazz. Known for his ability to navigate between underground and commercial music while maintaining his integrity and broad fan base, Lee has recently shifted focus from his chill-out project Jakatta to various production endeavors. He has also collaborated with his talented musician friends to create this latest nu-funk and boogie hybrid. The band's members hail from esteemed groups like Incognito, Jamiroquai, and the Kyoto Jazz Massive, showcasing their commitment to unashamedly musical performances.
