The Superbs were a Sweet Soul harmony group based in Los Angeles, known for their unique blend of male vocals and the distinctive soprano of female lead singer Eleanor 'Punkin' Green. The group consisted of members Eleanor Green, Ronald Cook, Bobby Swain, and Walter White. During their active years, they released approximately twenty-five singles under the Doré label from 1964 to 1987. Bobby Swain later departed from the group to join another Doré act, the Entertainers IV. The Superbs' main recording period spanned the Sixties and early Seventies, and they also featured later members including Cheryl Boyd, Gordy Harmon, who would later perform with The Whispers, and Lawrence Randall.
