The Swingers are a band formed in April 1979 from the remnants of the Auckland punk band. After the punk band's last single was produced by Judd, The Swingers emerged and quickly made a name for themselves. Their single "Counting The Beat," released in January 1981, became a massive hit across Australasia and remains a staple on radio and TV in New Zealand and Australia.
