The T-Bones were a recording group active from 1963 to 1966 under Liberty Records. Initially, their albums were recorded by American session musicians, specifically The Wrecking Crew, but the group should not be confused with a British band of the same name. In the UK, they were referred to as "U.S. T-Bones." In 1966, they achieved a hit with the single "No Matter What Shape (Your Stomach's In)," which was based on a melody from an Alka-Seltzer commercial and reached #3 on the charts. Following this success, Liberty Records quickly produced an album of the same name, but the session musicians were not available for promotional tours due to their lucrative session work in Los Angeles. Consequently, Liberty created a different "public" T-Bones group for appearances, consisting of Judd Hamilton, Dan Hamilton, Joe Frank Carollo, Tommy Reynolds, and Gene Pello. None of these members played on the hit record or the subsequent album "Sippin' and Chippin'," which peaked at #62 on the charts, while the album reached #75 on the Billboard 200. The "public" T-Bones eventually recorded the group's final album, "Everyone's Gone To The Moon (And Other Trips)." Dan Hamilton, Carollo, and Reynolds later formed the soft rock trio Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds.
