**Bio: The Tan Tones** The Tan Tones were a vocal group from South Los Angeles, California, formed by Leonard Wayne Bunn (lead), Irving Ross, Walter Boyd, Darwin Jackson, and Melvin Ross. They attended Manual Arts High School, which, along with Jefferson and Fremont High Schools, was a prominent center for the California vocal group scene. In 1956, The Tan Tones signed a recording contract with Lamp Records, a subsidiary of Aladdin Records. They recorded four songs: "I Love You Really I Do," "No Matter," "Tell Me," and "So Afraid," which were released on two singles in March and July of 1957. Although Lamp Records never achieved a significant hit, they were known for recording quality artists, including other vocal groups like The Mellow Fellows, The Cues, and The Cookies. In 1963, Leonard Wayne Bunn wrote and recorded two songs that were released on Andre & Sky Line Records.
