The Tempters were a Japanese Group Sounds band formed in 1965 in Saitama. They made their debut with a single in October 1967 and achieved a number one hit the following year. Notably, most of their repertoire was written by a member of the band, which was unusual for a GS band. The Tempters disbanded in 1971.
