The Tielman Brothers were the first Dutch East Indies band to make a significant impact on the international music scene in the 1950s. Hailing from Kupang, Indonesia, the brothers relocated to The Netherlands in 1956, initially settling in Breda before moving to The Hague (Den Haag). They are recognized as pioneers of rock and roll in The Netherlands and gained fame across Europe for their unique style of music known as Indorock, which blends Indonesian and Western musical elements with roots in Kroncong.
