The Twilights were a vocal harmony trio formed in 1964 in the Adelaide suburb of Elizabeth. Initially, they employed various local acts for musical backing, but later merged with The Hurricanes to become a full-time six-piece. They signed a record deal with Columbia and gained national popularity, peaking in September 1966 with their sixth single, "Needle In A Haystack," which reached #1. Despite their creative peak, the group's popularity began to wane, leading to their disbandment in January 1969 after five years together. Following the breakup, Glenn Shorrock found international success, while Terry Britten went on to write songs for various artists.
