Underworld is a UK electronic music act formed in 1987 after the disbandment of their former band. The initial line-up released two albums featuring song-oriented funky guitar-based pop. In 1991, the core duo shifted towards a new track-oriented technoid direction and welcomed DJ as a new ally. The track "Born Slippy NUXX," originally a b-side, gained immense popularity after being featured in Danny Boyle's film "Trainspotting" in 1996, becoming an anthem of the mid to late 1990s. Emerson left the group in 2000 following the release of "Everything, Everything" to pursue a solo career, and was replaced by another DJ for tour duties. Price joined Underworld Live as a performing member in 2005.
