U.S. Apple Corps was a band that gained some attention in the late 1960s, originally fronted by 15-year-old singer Bryant Sterling, also known as Denis Bryant. The band caught the eye of Shelby Singleton, who signed them to his Nashville-based SSS International label. However, Singleton was not impressed with the rest of the band and decided to replace them with a group of Nashville studio musicians, including drummer Jeff Pocoro, lead guitarist Tommy Shaw, and bass player Jacob Stokes. Notably, a black female vocalist was also part of the lineup, having been recruited from a church next door to the recording studio. Despite their intriguing formation, U.S. Apple Corps provided little in the way of performing credits.
