The Vapors are a new-wave rock band from Guildford, UK, originally active from 1979 to 1981 and reformed in June 2016. Managed by John Weller, father of Paul Weller, the band achieved worldwide success with their second single "Turning Japanese." After releasing two albums and touring in the US, UK, and Australia, they disbanded due to disenchantment with the record industry and a lukewarm reception to their second album. In 2016, they resumed touring and released their third album, "Together," in May 2020. The original lineup consisted of David Fenton (Guitar, Vocals), Ed Bazalgette (Guitar), Steve Smith (Bass, Vocals), and Howard Smith (Drums). The reunion lineup includes David Fenton (Guitar, Vocals), Ed Bazalgette (Guitar), Steve Smith (Bass, Vocals), Michael Bowes (Drums), and Dan Fenton (Guitar, Vocals).
