The Viscounts were an American pop/garage group hailing from New Jersey, formed in 1958. They gained recognition with their only hit, an instrumental titled "Harlem Nocturne," which reached #52 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1959. The track saw a re-release in 1966, climbing to #39 on the US pop charts. The band comprised Harry Haller on saxophone, Bobby Spievak on guitar, Joe Spievak on bass guitar, Larry Vecchio on electric organ, and Clark Smith on drums. They should not be confused with a British band of the same name from the same era.
