The Voices of East Harlem is an American Gospel/Soul vocal group originating from New York City. Founded in 1969, the group emerged from an inner-city action project in East Harlem, initiated by a local pop warner football coach and the founder of the East Harlem Federation Youth Association (EHFYA). The ensemble was created to perform in colleges and at local benefits, consisting of an often 20-member group with ages ranging from 12 to 21. Throughout their career, they collaborated with various producers on their albums.
