The Wascals, also known as Da Wascals and The Lil’ Waskals, was an American hip hop group consisting of Bucwheed, Spit-Anky, Alphie, and St. Imey. They were signed to Delicious Vinyl Records and often compared to their labelmates The Pharcyde, earning the nickname "The Baby Pharcyde" due to their similarities. Both groups featured four members and were produced by J-Swift. Bucwheed made an appearance on The Pharcyde's album "Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde," while Fatlip contributed to The Wascals' track "Dream and Imaginate." Each member had youthful, high-pitched voices and was named after characters from the Our Gang films: Bucwheed after Buckwheat, Spit-Anky after Spanky, Alphie after Alfalfa, and St. Imey after Stymie. Bucwheed sported an unkempt afro reminiscent of Buckwheat, while Alphie styled his hair like Alfalfa. The group recorded an album titled "Greatest Hits," intended for release in 1994, but disbanded due to creative differences before it could be released. The album was ultimately shelved and later released in 2007.
