The Whatnauts is a soul vocal group formed in 1969 in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S. They were active in the early 1970s and produced notable music during that time. In 1972, they collaborated on the song "I'm So Glad I Found You," and in 1974, they achieved a significant R&B hit, reaching No. 25, with their label mates on the sweet soul standard "Girls," which has been continually sampled in the modern hip hop community. Their biggest hit, "I'll Erase Away Your Pain," reached No. 14 on the R&B U.S. charts in 1971.
