The Who is an English rock band formed in Hammersmith, London, in 1964. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 as performers. The band's lineup has included Roger Daltrey, who has served as the lead and backing vocalist, rhythm guitarist, harmonica player, and percussionist since their inception, and Pete Townshend, who plays lead and rhythm guitar, provides backing and lead vocals, and plays keyboards. Current touring musicians include Simon Townshend on guitar and backing vocals, Loren Gold on keyboards and backing vocals, Jon Button on bass guitar, and Scott Devours on drums and percussion. The Who has had several former members, including John Entwistle, who played bass guitar, horns, keyboards, and provided backing and lead vocals until his death in 2002; Doug Sandom, who was the drummer in 1964 and passed away in 2019; Keith Moon, who was the drummer and a backing and lead vocalist until his death in 1978; and Kenny Jones, who played drums from 1978 to 1983 and in several subsequent years.
