The Wig is a band that originated in Austin, Texas, in 1964. The original lineup included John "Toad" Andrews, Boz Scaggs, Bob Arthur, Steve Miller (who was with the group briefly), and Benny Rowe. This early version of the band did not record any music and disbanded after a trip to Europe. Following the breakup, Benny Rowe returned to Texas, retained the band name, and formed a new group with Rusty Weir, Johnny Richardson, Jess Yaryan, and Bill Wilmot.
