The Winkies were an English pub rock group active from 1973 to 1975. Formed by Canadian-born Philip Rambow alongside former Holy Rollers guitarist Guy Humphreys, bassist Ian Turrington, and drummer Mike Desmarais, the band blended pub rock sounds with glam rock visuals. In 1974, they became Brian Eno's backing band and subsequently signed with Chrysalis Records, recording with Leo Lyons of Ten Years After. Their recordings featured guests such as Chick Churchill and Eno, but the intended album was never completed. The Winkies then began work on another set with producer Guy Stevens. However, shortly after the release of their debut album, the band disbanded in 1975.
