The World Column was a 1960s soul group hailing from Gary, Indiana. Originally known as the Segrams, they released two 45s in the late 60s before changing their name to the World Column. Their second single, "So Is The Sun," released on Tower Records, later inspired Paul Weller's Jam-era composition "Trans-Global Express." The confirmed original members included Dave Meyer (vocals), Joel Kaplan, and Dan Boller. Bob Redding, Joe Odum, and Delroy Bridgeman, who are believed to have joined in 1968, contributed to the group's soulful sound. The World Column performed extensively, opening for major acts such as the Jackson Five and Sonny & Cher. After some lineup changes, vocalists Bob Redding and Delroy Bridgeman eventually became prominent members of the group.
