The Youngbloods were an American folk rock band from New York City, active from 1965 to 1972, with a brief reunion in 1984. The band was formed by Jesse Colin Young, who played bass, guitar, and provided vocals, and remained with the group throughout its initial run and during the reunion. Jerry Corbitt contributed guitar, harmonica, and vocals from 1965 to 1969 and returned for the 1984 reunion. Lowell "Banana" Levinger played lead guitar, piano, finger cymbals, and pedal steel guitar during the band's original years and also rejoined in 1984. Joe Bauer was the drummer from 1965 until the band's initial disbandment in 1972, while Michael Kane played bass from 1971 to 1972. The reunion lineup included David Perper on drums and Scott Lawrence on keyboards and windwoods. The Youngbloods are remembered for their contributions to the folk rock genre during their active years.
