Théo Blaise Kounkou, known as TBK, was born on April 24, 1950, in Poto-Poto, Republic of Congo. He began his musical career in vocal groups and church choirs. In the mid-1970s, he moved to Benin for his studies, where he joined the "Poly ryhmo" group of Cotonou. By the end of the 1970s, he created a group in Ivory Coast and collaborated on the album "Droit Chemin," which included hit songs that have gained international recognition and are considered gems in the African music scene.
