Theron and Darrell are a soul duo hailing from Wichita, Kansas. They were part of a vibrant soul community in the city, centered around Smart's Palace, the main R&B venue. Gafford and Buckner's backing players occasionally substituted for the house band at the Palace, contributing to the local music scene.
