Thomas Lang (b. August 5, 1967, Vienna) is a renowned Austrian drummer, drum clinician, producer, and music educator. Acclaimed for his technical proficiency, Lang has worked as a session musician with leading pop, rock, jazz, and metal performers. He co-founded the prog/avant-metal band stOrk and launched a boutique record label and marketing/consultancy firm with his wife. Currently, he resides in Los Angeles, California. Lang began drumming at the age of five and studied under private tutors before attending the Vienna Conservatory of Music, from which he graduated in 1985. He started his professional career as a session musician after relocating to London in 1990. His musical influences include various notable artists, and he is also a multi-instrumentalist, playing keyboards, bass, and guitar. In 1995, Lang released his debut solo album, featuring guest vocalists. Most of his subsequent albums were self-released through MUSO Entertainment. He collaborated with Austrian guitarist and experimental musician, a former member of Falco, on a 1996 album, followed by a duo CD in 2005. His latest releases include a collaboration with Italian bassist in 2019 and a solo album in the same year. As an educator, Lang has released several acclaimed instructional videos and manuals, including a 3xDVD series.
