Three 6 Mafia is an American hip-hop group from Memphis, Tennessee, established in 1991. The founding members include Paul Beauregard, Jordan Houston, and Ricky Dunigan. Originally named "Backyard Posse," the group later changed their name to "Triple Six Mafia" and initially focused on horrorcore music. They began their career by releasing several EPs through their own record company, later launching their own label. As they gained popularity, they added members Robert Cooper, Lola Mitchell, and Darnell Carlton before the release of their album "Mystic Stylez." Over the years, Three 6 Mafia evolved from an underground hardcore rap group into a mainstream success, eventually winning an Oscar and achieving significant hits. The group's lineup varied with each album, but the duo of Juicy J and Paul remained the constant core, serving as both producers and rappers. They have collaborated with various affiliates throughout their career and have been involved in numerous side projects and independent label ventures.
