Three Dimensional Tanx, originally known as 3D Tanx, was formed in 2000 after the break-up of the Lancaster (UK) band Lancaster. The band sought to create a harder yet more psychedelic sound compared to their previous work. The initial lineup included a vocalist/synth player, a guitarist, a bassist, and a drummer, and they occasionally featured backing vocals and percussion from a member of fame. In 2010, following the departure of a member, a new lineup was established with guitarists and Richard Turner. The band entered an unofficial hiatus during the Covid-19 pandemic.
