Three Times Dope, originally known as 3-D, emerged from the vibrant Hip-Hop scene of Philadelphia in the late 1980s. They were part of the Hilltop Hustlers collective alongside notable local artists Steady B and Cool C. The group, consisting of emcee EST, producer Chuck Nice, and deejay Woody Wood, gained a dedicated fanbase with early releases like "Crushin' & Bussin'" and "From Da Giddy Up." After signing with Lawrence Goodman of Pop Art Records, who was also Steady B's uncle, they released their debut album "Original Stylin'" in 1988. However, a falling-out with Goodman around the time of their sophomore album, "Live From Acknickulous Land," led to tensions with former allies. By the mid-1990s, Three Times Dope had disbanded, but they left a lasting impact on the East Coast Hip-Hop scene and beyond.
