Thurl Ravenscroft was an American voice actor and singer, born on February 6, 1914, in Norfolk, Nebraska, USA. He passed away on May 22, 2005, in Fullerton, California, USA. Ravenscroft is best known for his booming voice as Tony the Tiger, famously saying "They're grrreat!" in Kellogg's Frosted Flakes television commercials. He also gained recognition as the vocalist for the song "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" from the classic Christmas television special, "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" In addition to his work in commercials and television, he provided voice-over work and singing for Disney in both films and attractions at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
