Tibor Szemző is a composer, musician, and media artist born in Budapest in 1955. He studied music at the Budapest Academy and with Schola Hungarica. Known for his diverse compositions, Szemző often integrates spoken words and visual materials into his works, which frequently blur the lines between various media. In addition to composing, he creates installations and films, contributing music to his own projects as well as to those of others. Since the 1970s, Szemző has performed with his quartet and, during the 1980s, with Group 180. He collaborates with various music ensembles across Europe and beyond, and has been giving solo performances since 1983.
