Tibor Szemző, born in Budapest in 1955, is a composer, musician, and media artist. He studied music at the Budapest Academy and with Schola Hungarica. Szemző's compositions often integrate spoken words and visual materials, blurring the lines between various media. In addition to his musical work, he creates installations and films, adding music to both his own films and those made by others. As a musician and performer, he has been active since the 1970s with his quartet and later with Group 180 in the 1980s. Since 1983, he has performed solo and collaborated with various music ensembles across Europe and beyond.
